Re: Limited Number of Clicks Per Visit
Could this be related to the number of members who stay peremanently logged on, or, have automatic notification to thread replies? Could the server confusing potential load with actual load and somehow maxxing out?

Re: Limited Number of Clicks Per Visit
After bickering back and forth with tech support, they swear there is no problem with the server and it might be a problem with the forums software. FWIW, I just bought a newer iPad running iOS 13.5.1 and the problem is still there with safari. No problems with google chrome on the same iPad. Weird... so I will likely try upgrading the forums software next.

Re: Limited Number of Clicks Per Visit
Not likely. For some reason Safari isn’t getting a response somehow, but Chrome or any other browser doesn’t have that problem.

Re: Limited Number of Clicks Per Visit
My "bill pay" link from my bank doesn't recognize Safari either... all the rest of the banking tabs are there and work...
But if I want to pay my bills I need to open my banking website through my Chrome browser (I'm guessing FireFox would work as well but I haven't tried it...)
Could be a security issue that Apple has in place? Dunno...

I am a regular poster on the fjriders.com forum and they also run phpBB forum software. I do not have any issues when on that site. I can’t find any indication of what version they are using but visually the forums are nearly identical.JohnBG wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 5:15 pmAfter bickering back and forth with tech support, they swear there is no problem with the server and it might be a problem with the forums software. Re: Limited Number of Clicks Per Visit
That's the baffling part. It seems to be only with Safari. Chrome and other browsers I have tried don't have the issue. If there was truly a gateway issue, it would affect all browsers the same. I'm not IT expert, I'm just a knucklehead that runs a forums site. We'll keep working on it.

Re: Limited Number of Clicks Per Visit
Hi John. Not sure if "LumpyB" has started his investigation as of yet but this issue which has mostly been a minor annoyance really changed for the worse this morning. Something is different. Along with the usual check-in and perhaps 15-20 minutes reading and commenting I had to sign off and on more times than usual. Freezing and hanging up between commands. And for the first time I got this (below) alert:
Have "LumpyB" back-up the trail a bit, ha.

Re: Limited Number of Clicks Per Visit
Before/during my triple-post yesterday, I finally got a database server connection error, and a quick refresh later and it was gone. Still thought it strange that it ended up accepting three submits without giving any feedback -- usually when I've run into that, I just get a single post.

Re: Limited Number of Clicks Per Visit
One of the things we noticed in diagnosing the issue is that we were running low on available disk space on the server. I upgraded the account for more space. Let me know if this improves. Weird stuff can happen when the server gets full. 13 years of accumulation builds up...
