There ought to be a way of deleting the "many" posts, that pertains to somebody seeing an ad from craigs list, and posting it. After a period of time the (CL) post is no longer available and the subsequent posts are irrelevant in the thd to the viewer IMHO.....

Do moderators go thru and "clean" out such post? Can a 'user' delete their own such post....

just curious..

This is a "housekeeping" job, and having done similar in the past, it can get quite complicated and time consuming. Some things can alternatively be archived. Then you can have the odd problem where users don't like their posts being deleted and kick up a fuss. :?

Sometimes nothing you do is right, as a moderator.

Is there something I can do as a "user" about 'my' initial subject post? exam- I have a post on the black market about a 638 alumna trailer on craigs list- has total of 4 post... to it... and the discussion on it is no longer viable as you can no longer see C/L post......you have my permission to delete.

Seems you can still edit it, so you could change it, e.g. "no longer relevant C/L link missing" :?:

In the alternative, if the OP of say, a link to a Craigslist ad, where to post some of the photos and the description/price, etc., the ensuing conversation about price, condition, accessories, seller, etc. may then remain relevant indefinitely.

Happy trails,
