Latest thread page first instead of last (moved)

Is there any way to change how the thread pages are listed ?

Currently, what I'm clicking on and believing to be the latest is actually the first and it's a bit annoying.
I know some might say just go to the highest number for the last page in a thread but it's at odds with every other forum I use and is counter intuitive.

Is there an option somewhere to change the order of pages?

I've fiddled about with that box at the bottom, with the ascending and descending options, but still no joy.

If you’re looking for the latest thread in a topic you’ve subscribed to… follow the directions on your email notification…in this case, click on the top link in your email…

If you’re perusing the forum and stumble on a topic, you can choose which page you’d like to view… in this case anywhere between 1 and 322…

If you’re looking to be taken directly to your “last unread post” … well… I believe you’re SOL…

I think I know what you’re getting at… my “tractor/RV/diesel forums” take me to the first unread… those forums have many, many more members and are corporately sponsored (read: BIG BUCKS $$$)… those forums can afford the latest, greatest web board software…

I enjoy the personal nature of SS and don’t mind putting up with a few inconveniences to keep it this way…

Either that or… next time John “passes the hat” to keep SS a float for another year we can all add a few zeros on the back end of our donation amount…

"New Posts" in the menu up in the upper left corner, should be in historical order.
Been way for awhile, just don't click on what you don't want or need to see.
Or if you have time on your hands click on all of them and don't read so the next time you go to "New Posts" they don't come up again.


I do this a few times if I have not checked-in for awhile as some posts are so repetitive about the same subjects over the years, like avoiding oil threads for example. Still, after all these years I do pick-up new information I never knew from time-to-time. The beauty of SS.

Then in the list of topics with unread content, click the icon on the left instead of the topic title, and it will drop you to the first unread comment in the topic.

Unread Posts ignores the categories entirely, and it seems to sort them such that the most recently active topic is at the top — basically sorting by date/time of last comment, newest at the top.

Works pretty well for keeping up with the new stuff.
