Can’t read PMs

Post by Lokiboy » Wed Mar 13, 2019 2:35 pm

I get this message when opening a PM, “You are not authorized to read private messages that are on hold.”

Is this a setting I have or an SS tech problem?

Possibly your post boxes is overflown and you first have to erase a whole bunch of old junk. I guess the limit is 50 posts. I had that several times... some notes had 3 years on their back.

Yes, you have too many saved PM's. Create yourself some additional archive folders and move your cherished messages to the new archive folders. You can create several folders, but once you fill each one, you'll have to start saving messages in another that has less than 50 messages stored within.
Currently, I have my inbox and three archive folders to store my "valuables".

Ha! Maybe the Admins can, but Moderators don't have "the juice" to read members' PM's.

I totally didn't know about folders, I've been deleting messages for years, thanks for the tip!

You need to purge old messages from your inbox. You are only allowed 50. Once you get under that the "on hold messages are released.

I've gone in the settings and bumped the number of messages (read or unread) that you can have in your inbox from 50 to 100.

You'll still need to still clean it out every once and a while...
