Ignition Plugs Wires

Post by Kamikazz » Fri Feb 23, 2018 11:54 am

Hello Everyone!

I have a Patrol 2006 with a Type V ignition. The sparkwires are OEM and I start to get some problems of Misfire... The connector on the plug, sometimes, get loose and fall... Cut, Restart... After the time, the wire became less long. :)

I start some research on internet and other forum. I found these recommandations for Type V Ignition.

-Copper Wire
-Restrictions on Plug Cap
-Spark Plug - NGK BP7HS (NO R!)

I found these parts numbers:
Wire : NGK CR2 8048 (ready for the plug and already have restriction)
http://www.ngksparkplugs.ca/products-ra ... licers.cfm
Plug Cap: NGK LB05EP
http://www.ngksparkplugs.ca/documents/R ... nglish.pdf

My question is if somebody have a part number for the connector on the coil side? I try to find the connection that go on the coil.

I checked with Napa, Carquest, John Deere... "That go on which cars? Oh Motorcycle? We don't touch this." They don't want do anything! They want a part number.

Honda or Kawasaki want, once again, a part number...

I'm surprised your 06 still has the original wires. 12 years is a very long run for HT leads w/o issues. Just call your dealer and order complete new ones.

The dealer are too far from me... If I could order directly from a local shop, I always more happy.

For the next readers:

I finally ordered a kit from a local website. Nobody can order these days without part number OR for a specific bike.
Dynatek 7mm Copper Plug Wire Set - DW-300

If you are from Canada, this is the website.
https://fortnine.ca/en/dynatek-7mm-copp ... set-dw-300

I cut the wire on the plug side and screw the NGK boots on it.
For the ignition side, I use the Napa kit. I still have a left over the next time. You can order them and ship it to your local Napa. I welded the wire with the metal clip. Definitely not necessarily but just to be safe!
