I'd do the ol' clean-n-test, but I enjoy projects like that (probably why I bought a rusty, broken-down 1999 Tourist  ).

Just clean with electrical cleaner and wire brush. Never messed with rebuilding a alternator. Much less cracking one open and cleaning one [emoji38]

Any progress? I'm interested because my dead Ural purchase is somewhat progressing and I need to not feel alone in my frustration

Updates will be soon I hope......

Realized that trying to rebuild this thing in a Morgan building (small) is aggravating as all git out.
So moving my mini mill stuff in there so I can bring the frame in the Garage (it as climate control too :) )
So swapping shops out now and almost done....so hopefully more progress soon. (I did say in the first post it would be a LONG process)

Thanks for all that are interested

I may have missed it, but do you have a title for the frame?
That would certainly be a deciding factor for me, whether or not it's fixer or a parts donor.

But to answer the question, it will have a custom title
.

Louisiana must be more generous with custom/reconstructed titles than New Jersey and most other states.
What it would cost here to get a custom/reconstructed title would far exceed the value of a 1995 Ural solo, no matter how much "lipstick" someone where to smear on it.
Good luck with your project

We do have better laws than most states. And from what I am told it's not that much...I wanna say my buddy that builds Rat Rods for guys around here told me like $25. :o

Also it's not a solo, it has the mounts for the sidecar.
