Uneven muffler mounting?

Post by Ironhand » Tue Sep 06, 2016 8:10 pm

I happened to be looking at the rear of my rig tonight while it was parked in the driveway and noticed that the left muffler sits higher and further outboard than the right. Checking the mounting options, it looks like there is only one. What gives? Weird, or are they all like that?

Both the mid pipe(cat) and muffler have a bit of a bend to them You should be able to rotate one or both and make adjustments.

Normal. The rh muffler has to clear the rear end and sidecar driveshaft

I don't think there is any symmetry on a Ural.

And here I thought my left muffler sat higher than the right because I slam it into the ground so often while flying the car.

Thanks Dan...now I've got to go check my left muffler, 'cause my crashbar drags the pavement before the muffler does.

Dan, I have the marks on the street out front to show . Being non symmetrical you can hang all kinds of stuff on it and the aerodynamics stay the same
