Mine slipped on tightly and then a few gentle taps with a soft faced hammer and a block of wood.

After absorbing everyone's response to my q, last night I took a small file and smoothed out any little rough spots on the carb flanges. Then I used the end of the plastic handle on a Craftsman screwdriver to tap gently around and around on the ring till it was on all the way. Very easy job and took 10 minutes.

Apparently when I did mine, I should have smoothed out the carb flanges first, it would have made it an easier job getting the perch rings on.

I heated the rings with my wife's hair dryer (when she wasn't looking :P ), and just had to tap them slightly with a small rubber mallet.

I still haven't received my order from Raceway so I called them. There was some sort of mix up and they did not ship my order. They are fixing it now, and I have to wait longer. I did buy a heat gun yesterday, so I'm already to install them when they arrive (and the new headlight too). I have to keep repeating to myself, "Patience...Patience...Patience..."

Has anyone use the perch rings with the 2013 "new" branch pipes?

I have the new branch pipes on my 2007. While I never had an issue with the old "pipes" because I learned how to install them properly 2 months into my ownership....approximately June 2007,the rubber on my original pipes was starting to crack. I do like the new branch pipes, but I installed them with the same skill I installed the originals. You won't have an issue if you take the time to do it right. Period.

But it is one of the most common mistakes many people make and these are an inexpensive solution to the issue. My understanding is the new branch pipes will fit, which I believe is what you asked SGB.

Thanks George, that is what I asked. I have the new branch pipes, and was trying to up my order from raceway so I ordered the perch rings too. Still not arrived, but ordered. Once I'd ordered I realized there was a possibility that they would not work together.

Berger, Never had a problem with the stock set up either. But why not get better part when they are available, so I don't have to experience having a problem in the future.

Perch rings slipped right on with a few taps with the back of a screwdriver. Super easy. And worked just fine with the new branch pipes. Total time to install about 10 minutes, and only one tool. Standard screw driver.
