What ignition does it have, Don?
I would start with checking all the connections, and the ignition switch.
Try working the key and the BRS off and on, the internal connections may have turned green, working them may reestablish the connections.

Yes, I thought you might be working on Kenny’s old rig.
I think 2011 has a Ducati ignition.
If it ran okay when you laid it up, it’s probably something simple.
I don’t remember, is there a vent hole in the ignition cover large enough for a spider to get through? Maybe one got in and built a nest by the Hall effect sensor, might be worth taking the cover off and having a look around.
Someone on here made a post about a testing procedure for Ducati ignition, you could make a search for that, might give you some ideas.

The Ducati ignition is pretty much bullet proof. It shouldn't be that hard to figure out, a loose connection of some sort. Sorry to hear about your companion.

It's a Ducati ignition on a 2011 unless it's been swapped.
Easiest check, under the left cover panel is the ignition module.
It's rectangular and about the size of a deck of cards.
It should say "Ducati Energia."

The front cover is pretty well sealed.
Had mine off after years of off-roading and it was pretty clean.
Also, a spider web shouldn't mess with the Hall sensor, unless the spiders out your way spin metal webs. In that case, ignition problems are the least of your worries.

I like to use one of those test lights that goes inline from plug wire to spark plug.
It is more reliable than the "look for the spark in daylight" method.
It can even show you misses when the bike is running.
They are cheap at Harbor Freight and when the bike is acting up, a 2 minute test will tell you if spark is really the issue.

Also, how old is your gas?
Drain tank, add fresh.
Then drain bowls, just to make sure you are eliminating the fuel as an issue.

Check the big ground cable at bottom of transmission as well as tops of battery terminals.
I had a weird hard starting issue that went away when I cleaned terminals.
