I built this rig about five years ago, documented on Soviet Steeds. viewtopic.php?t=36141
Lots of time and money went into building it. I have since built an 1150GS rig, and this has been ridden once since I completed the GS. Don’t really want to store two sidecar rigs for the winter. If it doesn’t sell, I’ll ride it this winter!

Notes:

Rig has been ridden. The only real rust is on the sidecar fender.

New exhaust will be needed soon. I was saving for something stainless. You could make something off a stock R100 work.

Slight vibration through pegs above 45. This happened after I put the heidenau on the pusher. It could be the tire (I didn’t bother to balance the wheel), or a u joint.

Maine state assigned VIN. Nothing sketchy about this. I couldn’t get the old vin sticker off the frame when I sand blasted it.

Title in hand. As is, where is.

That looks like a really good value, I think someone would have a difficult time building an equivalent rig for 6k.
Good luck with the sale.

Thanks! I probably have twice that in it 😭 I also have lots of miles and a few years out of it. I’d really like to sell it to someone that appreciates it.

I am surprised that there is not a line of people waiting to buy this rig. There are unmodified Urals going for more money that aren't capable of half what this rig can do. Is it just that nobody wants a 1wd rig? How many 2wd Urals actually get used off road where 2wd is required? This rig will run circles around any Ural on dirt roads. Somebody please show this rig some love.

John,

I am retired, on S.S. I work as a substitute teacher. I don't have a garage. My wife is still waiting for me to get over that motorcycle thing. Disposable income is scarce. Should I buy a lottery ticket and then win, I will buy more motorcycles. Right now, my R90/6 Ural rig makes me happy.

Brand new u-joint assembly going in tomorrow. If you’ve kept up on the prices, this isn’t an inexpensive part.

2019-11-19 05.38.04.png

Pulled off the exhaust, wire wheeled it, and will have it back in tomorrow. After inspection, the y pipe appears to have at least two more years in it. I’ll put together something stainless in the spring...but I’ll need to recoup the cost.

2019-11-19 05.38.22.png

Come ride it home! It’ll be 49 degrees on Friday! Did I mention it has heated grips and a troller for heated gear?

Hope you don't mind, but I've taken the liberty of properly orienting your images and placing them inline. It's a really cool build and the pics should be displayed properly to showcase your handiwork.

As she sits tonight gentlemen. I’m going to yank down the ad and wait for spring. I can’t convey how good this bike looks in person. If you’re on the fence, you should come take a look! Again, the only reason for the sale is that I’ve got more than one sidecar rig.
