Kenda 18" military tires

Post by cateyetech » Sat Dec 09, 2017 12:01 pm

These Kenda 4.10-18 military tires
TB28hfccoOO.eBjSZFLXXcxmXXa_!!45655415.jpg
have popped up here on SS a few times and there has been some interest shown
I did some research looking for a 19" version but :(

I did find them in China and we do have a container or two come from there ever 2-3 months
and we have had our contact in China acquire things for us and ship along with our product 8)

So I might be able to get some of these if there is any interest
Their not cheep and shipping plus import tax/fees
but if you really want some $120-140 per tire I would guess
and 2-3 months till our next containers arrive
TB2TeO.cheK.eBjSZFlXXaywXXa_!!45655415.jpg
I am NOT!!!! trying to make money from this :foilhead:
just trying to help out :foilhead:
so you will pay cost + shipping to you

Please no jacking around :?
I'll have what little money I have in these 18" tires that I can't use, so if you have me get you some, there yours!!!

I will let this thread run until December 18th and see what the total is
and then email our contact :)

If you want some of these tires please post in this thread how many you would like to have.

I'm SO tempted to get in on this, but I'm quite satisfied with the 18" Heidenau K28's. I'm concerned that the Kendas will be a step backward in handling. But I also kinda want to try 'em out. I dunno... I'm on the fence...

If they were our size I'd be more helpful, but....
I think Kenda's are my favorite (haven't tried Heid's) Ural tires :D
but I don't like the flat profile on the front, so I run the Kenda 110/90-19 Big Block
great grip to keep the rig from pushing it's way off the trail :)

According to the person I know who has them, their super stiff carcass and low profile makes them more sure footed, and better handling than any other tire he's used. For someone who off roads a lot, one down side would be loosing about 3/4" of ground clearance. The other down side of their stiffness and low profile is a rough ride, but perhaps one could reduce the preload on their shocks since theres so little sidewall flex.

I wonder what the driveshaft clearance would be? Given the smaller diameter it would be like a slight gear reduction too.

Bummer, I found this https://www.englishtaobao.net/product/541288992707/ used google translate, says the tire width is really 115 MM (~4.527 inches). Dagnabit, looks good too...will not fit on my Retro, no how, no way, will have to check M70 and see...know it has more clearance than the Retro...but .5 inches more, dunno...

I didn't measure it, but it doesn't look much
wider than a K28. It fit no problem on a gear- up with 18" rims.

My new rig arrives next week, I'm going to get together with the person who has them, and test fit them. He
thinks it should fit, but it might be really tight on the front of a retro.
