1966 BMW R60/2 in excellent condition with period correct accessories. The engine and frame serial numbers DO NOT MATCH. TOTAL mechanical restoration with some new gears, all new seals and bearings, KS Pistons & Rings, Memphis Motor Werks valves and seats (as used by Vech), BoreTec bores with carbide treatment, slingers (1,000 miles ago), cables, harness etc. NEW FRESH tires. Mileage shown 107,000, 57,000 of that is mine. Looks good but has no original paint. Mechanically perfect, ride it anywhere or an excellent base for a cosmetic restoration.

Best of luck Ron she's gorgeous.

Most beautiful standard BMW ever built. Never owned a /2 but ridden a neighbors a couple times. Love at first ride

She's a real beauty and even without the matching number thing, with all you have done mechanically makes what your asking a very fair bargain.
Good Luck.

I'll be riding to a friend's place in Naples, FL Tuesday (yes, on one of my Urals). He just happens to be building a BMW collection (better rate of return than his 401K, really), will see if he is interested. R60/2, one of the sweetest touring bikes ever made.

Very Nice, I rode this USA model daily for 10 years. 100% reliable, very easy kick start, I felt safe & secure riding it & miss it.
Someone should grab this. Especially if Vetch has gone over it - he does excellent work. They are getting scarce.

Vech has not worked on my bike. I do my own work. I have used Vech's parts and advice. I also used a couple of vendors he uses and recommends for the cylinder bore and fitting "new fuel" valves, seats and guides to the heads. OTOH I did run it from MA to MS (and return) to attend his annual rally. He approved.
Presently have a party from California showing interest. I seem to remember HaulBikes getting good references. They are running a spring special that would move my bike from FL to CA for $400. Can't beat that price.

Wish you and the bike were back in MA. I might be talking to you face to face at this point.
Maybe I should be happy that it's not back yet.
When will you be back?

Speaking of riding, i had a 65 /2 that was the same year as my wife. Should have kept the bike!
past afflictions include limey motocars and bikes, R60/2, R65ls, and a Citroen.
Now an 87 K75s, DB Haanjo gravel bike, and a rusty 2012 GU bought new
dual K&N cones on homemade intake, 40/137.5

Definitely should have kept the bike.
No problem quietly dropping off to sleep after riding the bike.

Wow, that was quick. Congrats.
I saw so many different bikes down at Daytona knowing I could afford most if I sold my '69 r60/2. Tough to let go but I guess someday...
So many bikes in the past that have become regrets at selling. Now getting older ya wonder how many more will be coming my way.

All I needed was ONE motivated buyer.
Just had to find him.
Odd that a local Florida Craiglist ad reached a buyer in California.
Didn't use the /2 enough to justify garage space.
Shame to see it decay from neglect.
It's in the hands of someone who will use and enjoy it daily.
