Maintenance Day - 8/19

Post by GHGoodwin » Thu Aug 10, 2017 8:03 am

Kevin and I are picking his new bike up this Sat. Setting up a quick (tentative) maintenance day for the 19th so we can drool on it. We might also be able to hear about Len's trip across the pond. If not I've got a couple of sets of pushrods to install.

Thanks for setting this up Hal. I'll be there. What time? Does 9 work? Can I bring anything besides Mr. M70?

Just the bulbs. I'll get the materials for relocating the front turn signal.

Hey, I want to play also. Hal, I pick up this old Beagle at the pound. He seems nice enough. He is no Mr. Winkles but nice. His name is Linus. Can I bring this stranger to our group?

I can't see why we'd have trouble with two old dogs. Do you need your own drinking bowl?

Kevin new M70 is beautiful. Perfect really, so Hal took it apart :)
New LEDs all around.
Bill was warned about the grease, it stains everything.
Me I got to fabricate a new seat bracket. I installed a Royal Enfield seat on my Ural. (with springs :D )

Hal was everywhere helping everyone. Cyndy was cheering us on. My new Beagle did just fine His name is Linus.

1. Although controversial, the beans were fabulous.
2. I have greased... really, my bike is fully lubricated in many ways... and yes, its faster.
3. I have done the impossible. I did get the satanic grease on my brand new bugproof breathable shirt from Cabelas. And I got the grease out. Much props to Samsung.
4. A good time was had by all, I really like the M70, Hal was, as always, the best host and we had a fantastic breakfast and lunch (and dinner, I couldn't eat a bite the rest of the day)

I'm disappointed I missed this one, as my bike could use a good lube job. I was still in South America, where many of the vehicles are lower tech than our bikes.

It was fun getting lit!
Bill didn't need to get greasey since he's a slick dude already.
Len... Well Len and his new beagle are the coolest.
Hal is never finished. The guy's mechanical sense is astounding and the way he shares it, is a real gift to all.
Everyone there had something to share. It was a Ural Zen clinic.
Great guys and it was good seeing everyone (Sorry I'm not mentioning everyone, but sometimes I even forget my own name)
Cindy and Hal. Many thanks for your hospitality.
