I got it yesterday Ernie, you are all good.

I took a short ride up Grand Mesa Sunday, the end of the road is about 20 miles from the fairgrounds. A little different than Moab.

Dana,

Looking forward to the sidecar rally. What would be the best route for us coming out of Gunnison--Rt 92, or Rt 50? I road with the least amount of grade would be best.

Ojo Caliente one of my favorite places, enjoy

Ernie I'd say if you on the Ural 92 north of Blue Mesa is a must do route a step and windy great motorcycle road. But with your Airstream I might say 50 would be the route

Hi Spat,

We'll be towing the Airstream. So it looks like Rt. 50. Thanks.

If anyone is coming to the rally through the Durango area and would like a place to flop I can offer a couple trees to hang your hammock, a spot on the ground for a tent, or a unfinished spot to put your camping trailer. Will have a cold Texas beer ready and a tree you can pee next too. Got 3 acres of undeveloped land with good access.

I will be up there using my hammock tent from Saturday July 1st till Sunday July 10th. I'm between Durango and Pagosa Springs off Rt 160. Just send me a PM. I'll be fishing, hiking, drinking beer, or riding "The Hoopty" most days but will check as needed. My place is about 199 miles away from the rally and if you stop then your route will take you over the Million Dollar Highway. That's not a bad route. Won't be offended if no body shows. Just more beer for me. But at 7600' elevation the nights are cool, view is nice, and it's free.

I am here waiting for everyone. Off of work for two weeks.

I always take at least a two week vacation every year for the national so why should this year be any different?

I was flip flopping whether I was confident in Natasha's ability to get me there and back. She was a little rough around the edges when I bought her in December. But, I think we got everything buckled down as good as humanly possible. So, we are heading to Hotchkiss on Friday, looking forward to meeting everyone :)
