2012 Genuine Stella 4T

Post by Bullethead » Sat Nov 09, 2019 7:54 pm

Here’s a major-league shot in the dark. I’ve got a Stella 4T scooter that’s giving me fits. But for the four-stroke engine, it’s a Vespa PX clone out of India. Anybody have any experience with Genuine or vintage Vespa?

Yes, I had a Stella Sidecar rig for about a year and had a ball with it, zero issues. My granddaughters and buddies loved the rig. However, it was a 125 and underpowered, at least somewhat! Other than that, no real experience because it gave me zero problems.

Vespa LX150 that I bought used for my wife. Loads of fun to ride, reliable.I love it.
Inspired me to recently get something, well kinda similar but kinda insane too. But that's another story.

You might try http://scooterdoc.proboards.com. One of the forum administrators has a Stella, and decades of experience with all types of two wheelers. Goes by the screen name...cyborg. He's a WNY Native, but lives on the West Coast now....I'm sure he'd be glad to help.

Thanks. Frankly, while I’ve been chasing the Stella’s issues I’ve been riding my wife’s LX pretty regularly. I like it a lot! Still, I can’t get past my neigh on sixty-year love affair with shifty scooters. 😉 I’m off for a look at “scooterdoc”. Thanks again.

What problems are you having with it? I've got more experience with the 2T Stella than the 4 but im down to help. I've got a few older Vespas in the stable and two Honda Elite 80's for friends. If scooterdoc doesnt have much, look at modernbuddy forum.

Sorry I missed your post. Many thanks for your interest. Been around the forum horn; lots of good advice but nothing yet’s solved the problem. Basically, it’s a intermittent stalling issue. Really odd. Looking forward to taking the Stella apart and doing the diagnosis after the holidays. Promise I’ll be in touch. That said, Happy Whatever. 😊 And thanks again.
