How many of us are active hams?

Here's a place for the group to discuss their other brands of bikes, hobbies, and personal interests not related to Ural & Dnepr Sidecar rigs. But not politics...

Always loved to listen to shortwave since childhood, & have had several interesting ones, including a collection of Zenith Trans-oceanic's. In the 1980's a friend gave me a huge working tube RCA communications receiver & transmitter. I visited a couple of Atlanta Radio Club meetings, & found that technology had gone way beyond the era I was interest in. Nearly all members had mobile handsets & used the repeater on stone mountain. Like many things I've found interesting, I was disappointed with the cost & other aspects of the new technology. Still have a couple of shortwaves & listen to broadcast radio.
