650 Service Videos found on YouTube

Post by JohnBG » Sun Jun 07, 2009 2:17 pm

I ran across these Ural 650 service videos while surfing YouTube. 8)

A lot of the videos are basic concepts like oil changes, brake adjustment and wheel bearings that are just as useful for rigs with 750 motors.

Some of the videos have Ural 750 motors in the videos, although they are labled "650". :?

These are great!

How can you obtain them and keep them permanently on your PC (or mine)? Sometimes I have found great videos, watch them occasionally, then all of the sudden they are no longer available.

I don't think there's a way you can do that with YouTube. :(

A slight variation also works....for Internet Explorer users.

Step one-download FLV player (http://download.cnet.com/FLV-Player/300 ... 67081.html)

Step Two- go to the Utube site, and play the desired video clip.

Step Three- When done viewing the clip..click on the Internet Explorer "Tools"...Click "Internet Options"... Click delete Internet files "SETTINGS"... Click "View Files"... look for a .flv file with a timestamp that is a few minutes old. That's the file you just watched.

"Click & Drag" that .flv file to a permanent home on your machine, and rename it to something useful, such as "750 TappetAdjust.flv"

Now, anytime you click on that file, the FLV player you downloaded will happily play the video clip, with no hassles.

Then, if you want to get away from the proprietary "Flash Video" format, video clips from Utube can be downloaded in .MP4 format, and directly saved onto your drive, wherever you like. There is a help forum on google that explains how it's done.

The same FLV player will happily play the .MP4 video versions of the clips. You just need to tell your machine to use the FLV player for .MP4 clips. IN windows, you do this by right clicking on the file, and select "Open With..." and browse around til you find the FLV player and highlight it.

When done, you can double click any locally stored .flv or .mp4 file and it will play as well as it does on Utube, while you're offline and working in your garage.

Have Fun & Best Wishes
John Panyon
