Color coding on the Hall Sensor looks pretty standard.
If so RED is power, BLACK is ground and GREEN is signal.

On the BMWs using a Hall Sensor you can test for a failed Hall Sensor by disconnecting the sensor from the harness and momentarily touching the GREEN signal wire of the harness to the engine case (ground). With an exposed spark plug you should get a spark with every tap if a bad Hall Sensor is the only reason for no spark.

I trust this works for Urals also.

Van, you've got a great grip on Urals and commonsense mechanics and making videos for the reat of us. If I may make a suggestion/request? Please learn to transfer/burn your video files to a DVD platform and sell'em to us unwashed folks. We'll pay. Whatcha think?

Nice video. You mentioned in it that they are $40. I need one for my 2010, where can I find one for that price?

I have a 2011 Retro. There is no spark. I've replaced the CDI. No spark. I have a new hall sensor but I am not sure how to replace the old one. Is there any video or link to instructions as to the replacement of the sensor.

You can test without replacing the old one. :) It's located under the gas tank at the front/top of the engine.
Unplug the existing sensor and plug in the new one. Pass a piece of thin metal between the gap in the sensor (see picture in previous post). You should get a spark while you do this.

Kill switch :foilhead:
