Starter Question

Woe unto you that bought the first model year of a major remake, perhaps this section can help address any 2014 and later model Ural "imperfections". Here's a special section for folks with the latest rigs to discuss 2014 and later model-related topics such fuel injection, 3-wheel disc brakes, hydraulic steering dampers, spin-on oil filters and other anomalies that don't belong on true Russsian motorcycle ;-P We've gone from using big hammers and greasy wrenches to needing computers and Ouija boards in order to fix our rigs.

Thing is, I replaced the battery with a brand new one...same issue with no starter at all (not even a click).

For me that confirms your issue is in the circuitry between the battery and starter. You next investment should be in a DMM/VOM.

I started with replacing the relay under the seat. Took the old one to an auto parts store, found one like it and installed it at home tonite: starter cranked right up, problem solved! Thanx to all for the advice and the patience!

Also check the starter. The solenoid might not be able to throw the gear into the flywheel if the gear shaft is gunked up.

A bit late to the party.

OK then! But do you know which of the 3 relays you replaced?

Notwithstanding this is why it's a good idea to carry a spare
