2019 MIL (check engine light) stays on

Woe unto you that bought the first model year of a major remake, perhaps this section can help address any 2014 and later model Ural "imperfections". Here's a special section for folks with the latest rigs to discuss 2014 and later model-related topics such fuel injection, 3-wheel disc brakes, hydraulic steering dampers, spin-on oil filters and other anomalies that don't belong on true Russsian motorcycle ;-P We've gone from using big hammers and greasy wrenches to needing computers and Ouija boards in order to fix our rigs.

2019 MIL (check engine light) stays on

Howdy folks. After picking up my love 2019 Ural from Heindl Engineering and hauling it 2,580 miles back home to Arizona. I hooked up the digital tachometer. However I then made the mistake of starting my Ural without reconnecting the coil. The Ural rand on one cylinder for a few seconds before I shut it down. reconnected the coil. and fired it right back up. She runs fine. However the MIL light will no shut off. I have disconnected the battery for several hours to reset the ECU. Still the MIL light remains on. Then I have performed the ket toggle on and off for 3 times and still to no avail. HELP!!!!!!!! Is there anyone out there who has had the same problem?

Owner/Operator error gonna happen at some point so nice it’s not the rigs issue.

Your owners manual will have a section on how to do and translate the MIL blink-code diagnostic test.

It's possible that it's stored the fault code which now needs clearing. That probably means plugging in the diagnostics computer.

According to IMZ's web sites online 019 owners manual.
CH 7: EFI Troubleshooting. Blink test included.

How long did you run the engine? Sometimes it takes a bit for the light to go off (mine is the '14). Ride it and see.

Is this a thing for the 2019 model? All the other EFI models ECU's are disconnected when you switch the ignition off, they are not live and do not require power to maintain memory (a bit like a flash drive).
The only hard reset you can do is by using software - if the fault is still there the light will come back on. It can take about 15 kilometers before everything settles down and the MIL light goes off. Pretty much the same distance the Dealers say it will take for a new ECU Map to take hold.

Unless your Dealer advises otherwise, as atlasheating said, ride it and see.

Was the hookup on the Tachometer the same as others for the Display or is this an add on tach?

It was activating the tachometer function on the electronics Ural speedometer.
