Software Update...Just Do It!!

Woe unto you that bought the first model year of a major remake, perhaps this section can help address any 2014 and later model Ural "imperfections". Here's a special section for folks with the latest rigs to discuss 2014 and later model-related topics such fuel injection, 3-wheel disc brakes, hydraulic steering dampers, spin-on oil filters and other anomalies that don't belong on true Russsian motorcycle ;-P We've gone from using big hammers and greasy wrenches to needing computers and Ouija boards in order to fix our rigs.
Forum rules
Please keep this section specific to issues pertaining to 2014 and later models such as fuel injection, sidecar and rear disc brakes and so forth. Ask general or non-2014 and later specific questions in the main Hammerin' & Wrenchin' section.

I'm curious to what the UoNE guys are talking about, if there hasn't been a new release from IMWA? 🤔
It's possible they've worked to somehow develop their own map. I think I'm gonna call John at UoNE's service department to see what he's got going on up there.

Its been confirmed. There was the original EPA map. Shortly after 2014s were released, then there was OR1.01. Then in October/November 2015 OR1.02 was released. That is the last and final map for ElectroJet EFI ECUs for Ural.
Curious as to your source. My source was the head of service for the largest Ural dealer in the world.

It’s within the realm of possibility that I somehow misunderstood the discussion, but I don’t think I’m that senile... :P

Yes, exactly. That's why I would like for him to clarify this claim.

Hi, Mike.
Can you comment on the gaskets and seals that were replaced? Just wondering if I need to monitor the same on my 2018 GU. Thanks.
Sorry for the slow response...had to dig out the receipt. I should mention that all of the leaks were very minimal. Truthfully, I hadn’t noticed any of them in my inspections or maintenance procedures. So, I wouldn’t get nervous..perhaps just particular places to keep an occasional eye on.

Here you go:

- Alternator seal, gasket, o-ring
- Clutch slider o-ring
- Main seal and lock washer
- Final drive gasket
- Neutral light sensor seal

Hope this helps!!
Mike

Jon, please confirm that OR 1.03 is not for use on the older "cast" throttle bodies, but instead the newer "shiny" throttle bodies. Or is this inaccurate?

:D
I see.

Well, Mike, perhaps UoNE loaded your bike with OR1.02 when they sold it to you, then eventually upgraded their software to OR1.03. I'm surprised that your 2018 wasn't initially loaded with OR1.03.
In any event, it seems that this "new" map is over a year old.

I am getting old......and forgetful. Heidnl's post jogged my memory on that there was an iteration after OR1.02 to OR1.03 in 2017.

Sorry for any confusion from my first post.

It still doesn't alleviate the fact that there are really only two maps you can have loaded in your bike. Bike comes with factory EPA compliant map. Dealer has to load OR map.

I'm a little rusty on emoji, does :D mean that the 1.03 map is for the shiny TB's, or is it for the cast TB's?

I don’t think anyone was asserting that one could have more maps loaded. The discussion is about updating the onboard map.
