2016 Gear up sidecart tire is leaning in

Woe unto you that bought the first model year of a major remake, perhaps this section can help address any 2014 and later model Ural "imperfections". Here's a special section for folks with the latest rigs to discuss 2014 and later model-related topics such fuel injection, 3-wheel disc brakes, hydraulic steering dampers, spin-on oil filters and other anomalies that don't belong on true Russsian motorcycle ;-P We've gone from using big hammers and greasy wrenches to needing computers and Ouija boards in order to fix our rigs.

Please keep this section specific to issues pertaining to 2014 and later models such as fuel injection, sidecar and rear disc brakes and so forth. Ask general or non-2014 and later specific questions in the main Hammerin' & Wrenchin' section.

My two cents and as most others have said. If it’s tracking straight then leave it alone. Mine has a 1° - 2° lean in at the top

I worried about my tire not being perpendicular when I first got my rig. It’s the wrong rabbit hole. Camber has nothing to do with the tracking of your rig. You can adjust the rear dog leg so the tire is indeed perpendicular, but as Heindl pointed out, the driveshaft will hit the snowman supports whenever there is any flex. You need to maintain a 1/2” inch or so clearance. If you maintain that clearance, the tire will not be perpendicular (at least on my rig)

When you get everything the way you want it, use a Dremel to mark the dog leg. That way you won’t need to guess if there is any movement, and provides reference points if the dog leg is moved in the future.

perfect description/suggestion IMO, i pretty much have the same situation and many folks here insisted that the wheel be 90 deg straight. my Ural drives and tracks perfect so i just moved on to other worries.
