How to make a 2017 and up tachometer functional.

Woe unto you that bought the first model year of a major remake, perhaps this section can help address any 2014 and later model Ural "imperfections". Here's a special section for folks with the latest rigs to discuss 2014 and later model-related topics such fuel injection, 3-wheel disc brakes, hydraulic steering dampers, spin-on oil filters and other anomalies that don't belong on true Russsian motorcycle ;-P We've gone from using big hammers and greasy wrenches to needing computers and Ouija boards in order to fix our rigs.
Forum rules
Please keep this section specific to issues pertaining to 2014 and later models such as fuel injection, sidecar and rear disc brakes and so forth. Ask general or non-2014 and later specific questions in the main Hammerin' & Wrenchin' section.

Can someone post a pic of the jump wire to coil connection? Did you tie the jump wire down with zip-ties?

Does reposting take these to the top of the list?

Anyone know if this works on the 2019 ?

Not a major deal, the R80 has no tach either but I do like them.

Okay forgive me but I've only had my retro for two days now, I'm assuming the coil wire that we have to splice into is under the tank? Because that is where my spark plug wires seems to lead. So I have to drain and pull the fuel tank to get to a place where I can install this wire?

If you can’t get to the coil you will have to remove the tank. I was able to unplug the connector and then splice into it without removing the tank on my ct.

If you remove the fuel tank, for any reason, it's strongly recommended that a fuel line quick disconnect coupling be installed on the crossover line prior to reinstalling the tank.

This is the best I have right now. Tonight I can take more if you let me know what you are looking for. This is a 2015 Retro.

Unfortunately the tank won't tilt from that end. You might be able to "shift" it back enough to get to the coils, but you will most likely have to remove the seat to do that. I tapped into my coil while the tank was off.

Okay here's a question that may be of benefit to everybody, where does that coil wire go to ? If it runs somewhere that is not under the tank maybe I can tap into there?
