Connected to ECU's and Balanced Throttle Bodies!!!!!!!

Woe unto you that bought the first model year of a major remake, perhaps this section can help address any 2014 and later model Ural "imperfections". Here's a special section for folks with the latest rigs to discuss 2014 and later model-related topics such fuel injection, 3-wheel disc brakes, hydraulic steering dampers, spin-on oil filters and other anomalies that don't belong on true Russsian motorcycle ;-P We've gone from using big hammers and greasy wrenches to needing computers and Ouija boards in order to fix our rigs.
Forum rules
Please keep this section specific to issues pertaining to 2014 and later models such as fuel injection, sidecar and rear disc brakes and so forth. Ask general or non-2014 and later specific questions in the main Hammerin' & Wrenchin' section.

Could be that code means something different than what OBDWiz and the rest of the world thinks it should. It should be a generic OBD2 code, but with the secret black box TB's we have, only EJK would know for sure.

I final also got the same scanner. With this Bluetooth scanner my IPhone or iPad is more usable for adjusting idles and syncing.
DammitDan wrote:The Tonwon OBD scanner linked below is the 3rd scanner model I’ve tried, and it has improved latency considerably for me (iPhone user). I’m still playing with the communication settings in OBD Fusion, but it connects via Bluetooth MUCH faster than the two WiFi units I tried, and the connection has remained stable thus far. I get updates on all dashboard meters in pulses that repeat fairly consistently every 1-2 seconds. I can finally use the scanner as a (slightly retarded) tachometer while riding.

Connection Issues and Troubleshooting

No signal:Make sure the adapter is fully plugged in and check the cigar fuse of your vehicle.
Does not connect to App or connection drops: Check the App hardware requirements and make sure phone has connected . Check the App setting and make sure connection method is Bluetooth and hardware type is Bluetooth LE.Try with a different App and make sure only one App is running in the background each time.
Does not connect to the vehicle or fail to detect the OBD protocol: Make sure the vehicle is OBD2 compliant and the connector pins are not corroded. If it's at key on engine off mode, start the vehicle and see. Lastly try on a different vehicle.

Switched to the TonWon bluetooth for Iphone today as well. Works great, Much better than Wifi. With wifi I was showing that everything was balanced but switching to the TonWon showed that I was out of balance at 1500-1800 rpm. I was able to make the necessary adjustments and the rig runs 100 times better than before.

Same thing here - I just picked up an OBDII adapter from Burt1731 and the TonWon... together they work like a charm. Connection to my iPhone X is quick and so far very reliable; super excited to dig deeper into this project. Really appreciate all the work/research others have done to make this come together. I also want to give a big thanks to Greg (tractor_bike) for helping me!

To confirm 7E0 is the LEFT Outboard ECU and 7E1 is the RIGHT Inboard ECU, correct?

Awesome information. I successfully made a cable for my 2018 Ural Gear-Up, adjusted the idle (a touch low) and then re-balanced the throttle bodies. However Ural did CHANGE the diagnostic port connector on the 2018 (I think the 2017 as well), it is now a 4 pin TE Connectivity part # 1-967325, I found one on Amazon for $3.66 :-) (search for "1 sets 4 Pin 1-967325-3 Auto Sensor plug waterproof"... ) took 4 weeks from China but it was the correct plug :-) For anyone needing to make the cable for this connector, looking at the 4 pin plug from the front (looking at the connector on the bike) the pins are CAN High (Top left), CAN Low (Bottom left), Ground (Top right), +12V (Bottom right) - Nick

in the process of gathering all the cables to install the OBDwiz, type device i have noticed several companies now make some sort of EFI reading/balancing reader. i decided to go the laptop style rather than Iphone. makes me wonder if Ural will ever offer their official version of the software etc to the public? there was a post about DEERE tractor being unwilling to share their software and owners had to go to a dealer for adjustments, not very popular with the do it yourself farm crowd. EFI is here to stay so got to do what you got to do.

Many famers have turned to Russian-hacked versions of John Deere's diagnostic software to avoid expensive and time-consuming trips to the dealer. I'm surprised that a bored Russian hacker hasn't taken the initiative to crack the ElectroJet software. :P

LOL, I think it is Ukrainian firmware, but the article I read showed a keygen for the official firmware, maybe there's multiple ways to root your tractor. I've been in contact with someone in the Russian federation that has built his own retrofit based on microsquirt for $980. He goes by Artsemi on here, and if I could figure how to give him money in russia safely, I'd replace my blown Right throttle body and be tuning right now. I was hoping some Eastern European of some sort would get bored and root the Electrojet lawn mower EFI system.
