Connected to ECU's and Balanced Throttle Bodies!!!!!!!

Woe unto you that bought the first model year of a major remake, perhaps this section can help address any 2014 and later model Ural "imperfections". Here's a special section for folks with the latest rigs to discuss 2014 and later model-related topics such fuel injection, 3-wheel disc brakes, hydraulic steering dampers, spin-on oil filters and other anomalies that don't belong on true Russsian motorcycle ;-P We've gone from using big hammers and greasy wrenches to needing computers and Ouija boards in order to fix our rigs.
Forum rules
Please keep this section specific to issues pertaining to 2014 and later models such as fuel injection, sidecar and rear disc brakes and so forth. Ask general or non-2014 and later specific questions in the main Hammerin' & Wrenchin' section.

Yeah I went through and checked all major +\-connections. Everything was tight and fairly clean. I didn’t trace every little wire (I’ll blame laziness). And it seemed to start happening once the bike was fully warm. I’m getting a very strong (Ouch) spark from the right side and it is getting fuel so I’m confident combustion is occurring but the fueling doesn’t seem even between left and right.

Im thinking it’s the main computer

Did you pull injector and test?

I did not pull it completely and test but I did loosen it while the bike was running and it certainly spit go-juice everywhere.

Wild guess
Your head temperature sensor might be bad?

Yes that could explain the lower temps on right side.

I doubt that would cause the issues I’m having (bike shutting off while moving) and I’m using a IR thermometer to check the temps. A bad temp sensor should throw a fault code as well

Actually yes it should (I thought of that, but afterwards).
I am getting a “Lost communication with ECM A”
How are you getting that?

The one my dealer uses is fussy about Voltage, and as we know alternator doesn't charge when idling so it's possible that at some point the program poops out complaining about low battery Voltage, so what he does is have a battery charger plugged in for the duration. :D

I can get them pretty balanced above 1800 but it’s never consistent.

The bike is randomly shutting off and I am getting a “Lost communication with ECM A”. The fault light won’t stay on and the bike tends to start back up. I’m also noticing lower temps on Right by about 40-50 degrees. Any ideas? I don’t have a dealer nearby
I'm late getting here so I didn't read the whole thread it's a mighty long one.
What year is your Ural?
I have a 2017 that constantly was shutting off and stalling at long red lights or long stop signs. I finally got sick and tired of it and because it was a 2017 I sent it back to the dealer with ural's approval for warranty work and I haven't seen it for months now. it seems not even Ural or the dealer can find what the problem is.
I guess what I'm trying to say is if it's still under warranty I would find a dealer and I would make them fix it. Because it seems you're just going to spin your Wheels Round and Round trying to find a problem that may or may not be within your realm of fixing.
I contacted Ural and made them pay the dealer to come get it.
I think sometimes in our quest to get it fixed and be independent, we all fail to see that a warranty is a warranty, parts and labor. Im all about doing my own work on my 2012, or my 03.... But not a bike under warranty.
I'm sure, someone will come up with that same old tired answer of " want do you expect its a Ural "..... It's also $15 K to $40 K ,no matter what it is you expect it to run correct for the money you paid.

..... Sorry, I'll burn my soap box now....
I apologise.

Yeah I don’t want to troubleshoot to death to eventually find out an ECM is fried and I have to pay out of pocket. I’m broke enough!

So I'm trying this out and so far I really like it. I made my cord just the right length to velcro under my seat. Works really well and now I have all the info while I ride.

If you do this here's a tip. Connect to wifi of the reader. Go into it's wifi settings by clicking on the "I" for info and write down the IP Address and the Subnet Mask. Then under Configure IP choose manual and enter in the info you just wrote down. Leave router blank. This way you can connect to the reader's wifi but leave everything else on your iPhone to use your cellular data and enjoy all your apps most importantly you GPS.
