Fall 2022 Jersey Devil Hunt

I don't see a post yet, so I guess I'll start one.

I left Garner NC at 8:00 Thursday morning and drove to Lewes, DE. The trip took 10 hours. On Friday morning, I almost screwed up, big time, by not looking at my Ticket Confirmation on the Cape May/Lewes Ferry. I thought I had until 10:00, but my reservation was for 9:30. It was 9:10 when I figured this out, so I hopped on board my 2019 cT and made it in time. I had an uneventful crossing and made it to the campground before Noon. Mileage for the trip north was 450. I enjoyed the company and the ride on Saturday. I was pleased that the cT with stock Heidenau street tires did well in the sand. On Sunday, I left around 8:00 and made my scheduled Ferry ride at 9:30 with no problem. The return trip was very tiring, and I had to take a few breaks. I stopped in Pinetops, NC for Supper and arrived home around 9:00 PM. Total mileage for the trip was 1,003. The rig ran great with only one minor mechanical problem - oil leakage around the pushrod seals. When I checked the oil, I realized that I had overfilled the crankcase at the last service. I drained about 8 oz of oil and I think that will take care of that problem. Also, I rarely drive at night, and I found that my headlight was adjusted too high. I think I lit up Saturn when I turned on the high beams. That was an easy fix as well. Thanks for a great weekend, especially Tom and Maria (who kept me fed).
