Camping with my boys in MO

Post by Ransom » Tue Sep 13, 2022 12:46 pm

Last weekend I went riding and camping with my 4 adult boys (2 sons and 2 sons-in-law). My oldest doesn't have a motorcycle so he rode in the sidecar, which made the perfect perch for him to take pictures.

We terrorized the wildlife and a few people in Mark Twain National Forest. Had lunch at Bixby Country Store. Paid a visit to the Devil hisself--well actually to Devils Well, a huge underground lake you can peer into through a cave opening. We set up camp at a friend's farm and enjoyed ourselves with grilling steaks on the campfire, drinking bourbon and smoking cigars. In the morning daylight we had some more fun perforating empty boxes with 9mm size holes.

The roads in Mark Twain NF are the best in Missouri. Smooth, twisty back highways combined with light traffic makes for a great time with my boys. It was our first time doing this, but hope to repeat it next year.

I came back feeling better than I've felt in a long time. Very therapeutic. Great memories.

Here's a video my son made with his drone and my helmet cam.
