Thanks a lot David, davide wrote: ↑Tue Jun 21, 2022 9:25 amHi Jean-Louis, your world trip sounds awesome, but sorry to hear about your troubles w. your Gear Up.
To answer your questions:
1-Ural is based in Redmond, WA (just outside of Seattle.) Address: 14700 NE 95th St., Suite 102, Redmond, WA 98052
2-In Olga's case they did a full rebuild of the motor. The repair included a new crankshaft, pistons, cylinders, clutch, and all associated bearings and seals.
3-I don't know how long it took as it was done about 4 years ago under one of the previous owners.
4-I do not have any estimates of the costs involved.
5-Yes, I corresponded via email with Dana: dana@ural.com I suggest you email him, explain what you are doing and the issues you are having. My experience with Ural is that they are extremely attentive to customer service and they try to assist as much as they can.
Best wishes on your adventure, keep us posted and no worries about jumping on the thread. I am sure Norm, the original poster, would not mind. That's exactly why we are all here on the forum, to share our experience and interests on Ural!
Best of luck with everything!
This is vary helpful. I will contact him.
Take care,
Jean-Louis
