i grew up right beside this other fence:Image
it took until 1994 that i was able to visit the neighbour village… the country that build the fence went bankrupt. they spent 11 years of their Bruto inland product on building it… plus 29 years of maintenance and border control -
NUTs

Accourding to them they had to protect themselves from our aggression…. not to protect themselves from loosing their habitants…

Such a waste
Hi Peter, I also grew up only a few hundred meters from the "wall". Grew up in Berlin during the cold war, fence & guard post up the street from our house. Walk past everyday going to school, would flip off the russians & the Vopo's (Peoples Police). Sad deal that was, it was a huge waste.

Reason, why I cannot understand that entire other countries cannot or do not want to learn from other times and countries... Same as with when a company passes over to the next generation.................. :foilhead:
