Custom Ural sidecar seats ready to cover.

Post by Rich Maund » Tue Apr 06, 2010 1:13 pm

Folks

Those of you who have seen my sidecar seats know I build them from scratch. Everything in them way better than factory seats and more comfortable too. Most of the hardware I use is SS as well.

I just finished five sidecar seat base sets. Foamed and sculpted and ready to cover to your spec. Built from heavy plywood and salt treated wood. I attach the cross piece and gusset to the seat bottom with Gorilla Glue and deck screws and once dry I put a heavy coat of polyurethane on them. You won't find wood rot and scary fuzzy yellow molds in my seats after they get wet! I make them as water resistant as possible. I even use SS staples to hold the covers on.

Here's pics of seats I have done in the past.

They all have carpet trimmed seat backs and a attached leather pouch. $325 plus $25 shipping in the USA. Drop in fit on any Ural sidecar. These are standard height seat backs. If you want an extra tall seat back like the Deluxe Interiors came with, just let me know. I'll build that for you. No extra charge.

E-mail me at maunds@verizon.net if interested. Great way to make your passenger more comfortable and dress up your rig! Thanks for checking them out!

Here's my Rich Maund seat installed. Very good work, much more comfortable than the original. My wife really likes it, and it looks great also! Top quality construction and materials. You won't regret buying one of these!!

Nah. Just Murphy's law of having anything in stock here. If I have it, no one wants it. If I just ran out, then someone will order it.

Rich makes a real nice tonneau cover too! In fact, if you want to dress your rig up AND make it all day ride comfy, he can fix you right up with a whole upholstery set. I have never regretted my investment in his stuff :D

You can buy a used one from someone. So technically, they still exist. I closed the shop at the end of '19 though. I have some sidecar seat bases that I make still here ready to foam. But I have no foam in stock and don't plan on spending a couple hundred $$ to get some in. Sorry. I was in business for 24 years. You had your chance! ;-) I'm in the process of cleaning out the shop and dumpstering a lot of stuff to get my work space back.

Must be something in the air!! I had an embroidery and screen printing business for 20+ years as a side business from my regular job. Sold the embroidery machine and equipment 3 years ago. Now just playing and donating stuff to schools with my heat transfer machines. Spent 4 hours today reorganizing and NOW have room in the work space. It is NICE!!!

After 31 years here, I have a bunch of stuff to sell off or pitch or reorganize. Then I have shop lights to replace once I can get under them again. We had all three of our building re-roofed last month. That cleaned out savings. Then I have two windows in the shop to replace. I sold my old Guzzi and a welding machine today. Retirement has me very busy!

Three's a charm.

I used to do a lot of fiberglass work (molds, parts, etc.) and I've been renting a 1,200 square foot shop since 1989; finally decided it's 'bout time to vacate.
