Hello from North Carolina

Post by socalmike » Fri Jan 01, 2016 7:38 pm

Hello All:

I just had my new 2015 GU from Ural of New England delivered prior to Christmas. Not a lot of riding yet, but what a kick!. I have the off-road software and 2 into 1 exhaust. Fantastic sound and amazing how responsive the bike is with 41, or so, horsepower. Amazing to see the horsepower/torque curve I have seen published. Attached image is with my son and nephews.

Mike-

Post your location- we have a lot of Uralistas in NC! Also, keep your eyes peeled for announcements about CRAP, an annual get-together with folks coming from s far away as Canada, Florida, Maine, and Connecticut. Usually takes place the first weekend in May just outside Sanford.

Welcome!

Welcome! Keep an eye open on this forum for the, "CRAP" rally in the spring near Sanford, NC. This is a great rally in your area and a great way to meet fellow Russian rig riders.

Hi Guys:

I am re-locating to Union County, just south of Charlotte.

Question: how is the local, Charlotte, dealer for repairs? I purchased my rig from Ural of New England because they had the color I wanted, Dmitry is so knowledgable, and I was able to have many accessories installed with the purchase.

Thanks,

Mike

Bought mine at Charlotte and had first service done there, no complaints. Nice place, beautiful building, lots of nice bikes. Ural a sideline. Owner a decent guy, face to face conversation gets results.
I do my own service, not because I am mechanically gifted but because it's a Ural. Plenty of good folks in the neighborhood to help you through any issues but watch out - they can put away some beer!
If the Charlotte dealer can't help, you do have options.
Welcome to the neighborhood.

Welcome. Quite a few Ural riders in the area. In terms of the Charlotte dealer, I have not dealt with them. Do all my own work. They are primarily a BMW/Triumph shop so Urals are not their main priority. Learn to do all of the basic stuff yourself. Lot's of expertise will be at CRAP and also the BURP in July.

Welcome Mike.
You'll be closer to the sand roads and pits near Pageland SC than I am. LMK if ya want me to show ya some good stuff there.
I live a few minutes from Uwharrie nat forest and miles of gravel roads, we should do a ride sometime soon.
