2019 Ural Factory tool roll

Post by Geckoboy49 » Tue Sep 10, 2019 5:32 pm

So, I noticed past posts mentioned items like a hand pump and tire irons as being included; these must've been phased out as my factory tools are several end wrenches, a few right angle Allens, pair of pliers, combo screwdriver/handle, wrench for the nut on the spare tire mount, leverage handle for the end wrenches, wrench for adjusting pre-load collars on the shocks, a T15 Torx screwdriver (what's that for?) and a 5/8" box/end wrench (what's that for?) Oh yeah, and a pair of cheap gloves. I've added some sockets, 3/8" drive ratchet handle, several socket-Allens. With the spare tire on the GU, did Ural figure tube swaps were a thing of the past??

Still a good idea to have a pump though. Some real decent compact 12v units available at reasonable prices.

PS - something that may not occur to a lot of folk. If you have a battery tender (and you really should) you should already have a handy power tap available for direct battery hookup for any 12v accessory - like the pump for instance. The popular brands of tender use a standard two pin trailer connector that you can get at any auto parts if you have to modify the pump.

Yeah, no tire irons with my 2019 tool kit either. The 5/8 wrench is for the parking brake adjuster bolt. I bought a cheap 12v compressor from the local auto parts shop. It works MUCH better than the old Ural hand pump.

Found the same thing with my 2019 GU. No pump and no tire irons. Dealer confirmed the pump hasn't been included for some time, but was a bit surprised the tire irons weren't there. I did a bit of searching to find a list of what should and shouldn't be included just to make sure I wasn't missing anything else, but couldn't find anything for 2019.

Maybe they figured with all 4 wheels interchangeable now a rider would rather swap wheels than bust a tyre. I certainly would.

+1. Heads up: Note that the standard fuse in the battery tender lead is 3 amps. I bought a 12V mini compressor which draws 5 amps which blew the fuse after a few minutes' operation.

Interesting. Ive got a few(4?) Deltran Battery TenderPlus units along with a couple pigtails that I bought without the chargers. They all came with 7.5A fuses. Haven't blown a fuse yet.

One (device more than tool) I have added is a magnetic tray.

Works wonders so you don't loose those fasteners and possibly other ferrous bits if you have taken things really apart.

I have added a combination wrench for each metric size.

And no I too do not know what the itty bity Torx tool is for.

I don't remember, since I've long since removed my cT's annoying parking brake mechanism, but are the four bolts that hold the parking brake splined actuation arm travel limit bracket to the Hayes brake caliper Allen or Torx?

I like carrying a pump - because valve cores ain't what the used to be, last few years I've had some fail away from home. I found THIS GREAT PUMP
for under $10. It works perfectly. See Pix

Also bought a fantastic tool roll on Ebay - between factory & added items, I'm well prepared. It's much nicer than the expensive Ural too roll & only cost $12.

They are torx, but I think they are T30. The small torx driver is a T15. I don't know what it is for yet.

The little Torx is for the screw securing the injectors
