Model codes newbie question

Post by Rallyguy » Fri Aug 10, 2018 7:28 am

Newbie question

Thinking of importing a Ural into Canada but they are limiting the models.

Here is what is allowed under 15 yrs old.
I just copy and pasted the following from the
Transport Canada website:

2007 TO 2017
model IMZ-8-1026,
model IMZ-8-1036
and model IMZ-8-1037

Anybody know what the followig models are?

1026
1036
1037

If I was to guess one of them is a Tourist/cT style, one is the Gear-Up/Patrol style/ and the last would be the Retro/m70 style. Those are the only three major styles made. The Tourist/ TouristT and cT are all the same bike with either wheel size or factory install items (windshield(s), spare tire) being different. The Patrol and Gear-Up is just paint and farkle changes. And the Retro and m70 again it just paint and farkle changes.
We may not have it all together,
But, together we have it all.

The Certificate of Origin from Irbit Motorworks of America for my 2017 Gear UP has 8.1037 for the Series or Model. Hope this helps

"Exhaustive" (20 minutes) Internet searching implies 8.1036 is Retro / M70, by elimination this in turn implies 1026 is CT. That's pretty much all the range then?

Try this for 8.1036 and 8.1037, I'd suggest 8.1026 is a typo and should be 8.1236.
