Today I added a 4"/10cm gooseneck stretch and increased the rake to 35°. I still have to finish welding the backbone extension and then add all of the gussets.

The bottom triple tree is 85% constructed, and the frame neck bracing is tacked on.

Love the Sportster tank.
I'm more of a fat bobber type, makes everything look lower and fill in the open space above the engine. But not MY putt.

What bars will go on this scooter Burt? Drags, I'm guessing.

The handlebars will be similar to drags. Once I get the front end done and the seat and tank mounted I’ll make the handlebars to fit. I’ve considered a two piece gas tank bolted on so that the top of the frame’s backbone is flush with the top of the tank. I have not been able to find a suitable tank for this option (yet).

Given the fact I’m a cheapskate, and I already have the Sportster tank, I’ll most likely stay with it. I did take some measurements on the size of the chopper today, it looks like at its longest point it will be around 8 feet long, the highest point will be 36 inches (gas cap), and the seat height will be close to 26 inches.

Likin' were you're headed with this. Are you going to build a springer, or a girder? Lookin' like girder from the lower clamp detail.

I saw this for the first time yesterday. Narrowed fat bobs. Might try that with the Sporty tank (you'd have about a quart capacity afterwards)... kinda like the look though. It would let you drop the tank down a bit.

Here's another one

Full size Bobber replica tanks are all over the place. Usually about $150. Mounting hardware kit another $40.

The front end will be a springer of my own design. It is hard to explain the design, I’ll hopefully have more pictures soon.
