M70 windshield

Post by Papa mike » Wed Feb 07, 2018 5:52 am

Why won't a patrol windshield not fit on my m70? How good is a plexstar 2 on one?

I was a little disappointed in the Plexster2. :( Had to make custom lower brackets (came with dumb hose clamps) :x .
Also made a small wind brake to stop the tornado  coming off the top right of the gas tank.
That being said I got it just about dialed in. :)

The Ural windscreen will fit, but the Retro/M70 headlight brackets sometimes crack when its installed. I have the Plexistar2, and like VWK75S, It isn't perfect but can live with it. I simply purchased some longer narrow hose clamps and used the standard mounts.

Thanks , appreciate the info. I will look mine over and see if another way to do lower mounts. Would Ural shield mount in front of headlight, or is it wishful thinking?

I wonder if the lowers on the Plexistar3 help with the wind form down under.

Perhaps, but I have leg guards which direct some airstream upward anyway, and would be in the way of the Plexifairing 3 lowers.

If you're determined to use the Ural windscreen, it probably wouldn't be an issue if you made a lower mount that attached to the lower tripple tree, and not attach it to the headlight.

Plexifairing 3 works awesome on my Retro. Takes a little time to dial it in, but keeps the wind off.
