My top Hella 500s are tapped into the high beam line to a relay in the sidecar. The lower Hellas are tapped into the low beam line into a separate relay in the sidecar.
So they work just like the regular light with the high/low beam switch but when I hit the “Flash to Pass” all of the Hellas come one, top and bottom.
This is handy if I have to ride at night down a dirt road.

Do you find it a bit annoying to have to hold the flash to pass switch to power up all your lights?

Yes and no. I don't really travel a lot down dirt roads at night. I have no problem travelling along highways or in the city at night but do try to stay away from roads where I might find large animals at night.
So far just holding the switch has been enough if I have to go down a dirt road at night.
That being said I do have plans to add a switch that will allow all lights or just the high beams/large Hellas.
I have future trip plans that will take me along hundreds of kilometres of dirt roads up north and if I get caught out at night I don't want to be holding the switch that long

We're in the same boat.....don't like to ride too much at night.....those denizens of the dark are unpleasent to come across. After these conversations with you I'm for sure going to set up a switch that powers up the relays that run all the lights....thinking I'll also hook up a relay to run the spotlight on the tub.....that would make for 6 lights paving the way through the dark

so yeah, I guess so....
Imagine how many lights, horns, and mirrors could be on a sidecar by your truly dedicated follower???

I have the one light bar connected through a relay for my highbeam circuit along with a ditch light. It gives me the heads up when deer are coming at me. It also allows me to set the machine somewhat sideways on a trail while cutting trees for moving other obstacles

Here is a question for all of the kings of candle power and lords of lumens. How much does having a passenger in the tub vs an empty tub, change the aim of sidecar bumper mounted lights?

I like the way you put that

I can't tell any difference......oncoming trafic might (although I dim for oncoming trafic)....the beams are so wide it pretty much light up everything out there when you have em on full blast.

I'm working on joining the Candlepower Corps or the Lumen Legion.
