Hello Gents!

I'm new to the group. This is fantastic information! I need 3-4 new tires for Sturgis this year and am looking for overall durability as my main criteria.

Seems you thing the K37s are the best in this department. I will agree that the stock 308s (as pushers) only last 3-4Kkms.

Anyone have any new info since this last post?

Here's another update that many should find useful. Bike Bandit will honor lower prices on the internet, provided the terms are the same. In other words, somebody selling a widget for 29 cents and $10.00 shipping is not a better price than Bike Bandit selling it for $1.00 and free shipping.

Motorcycle Tire Maniac's site sucks. And they only offer one type of tube, Kenda and there is no info on the tube. I did talk to them and it is the right size, but the guy on the phone thought it was the wrong size and suggested a different tube, also a Kenda.

Bike Bandit gives you more choices on tubes, provides full descriptions and also offers things like rim strips. If you are like me, and want a HD tube, you won't get it from MMM. You can't even get a rimstrip from him if I remember right.

I called BB and got my 3 Duros (that showed up in 2 days), 3 IRC HD tubes and Kenda rim strips all shipped for free and they honored the MMM tire price. If you are an AMA member, you also get other discounts on each order.

I have no affiliation with BB. I've just had great service from them over many years and orders and even when I look elsewhere for a better deal, they are still the best in the long run. They stand behind their stuff and always make it right if a problem occurs.

The process is normally done on line. But I pulled up their chat window and gave the phone rep the link to the MMM site for the Duro I was ordering. I had already put all the stuff I wanted into a shopping cart and he went in and adjusted the price while I waited and I was able to complete the order.

Great info, thank you for all the valuable information.

I am now torn, torn like an old sweater between the Heidenau K37 and the Kenda K335. Seems price wise the Kenda is better deal with about the same tread life, any PROS/CONS on which of these tires you choose and why?

Thanks.

Since 3.50 X 19" tires are not included, I though I would mention that the Stiff AVON SIDECAR DUTY & SM MK II Tires are very good on 1wd combinations, primarily used on the street, "Tourists" etc. Handling is best described as adroit & nimble. They are quiet & faster than dual sports.
So, civilian street riders have an excellent alternative. They are expensive, but wear longer - like iron.

I have often wondered about the Avon tires. I spend most of my rides on pavement, but have never had any qualms about "putting some gravel in my travel" with the Heidenau as the pusher.
What is your experience with the Avon's on gravel?
The narrower tire makes removing/installing the pusher easier, too, doesn't it?
I am assuming one shouldn't mix 3.5's with 4.0 tires; am I wrong?
I only have 6-700 kms on my current Heidenau (got about 8000 out of the old one) but may give the Avon's a try next time. Since the front and hack 308's don't show much wear, it could be awhile before I could swing a full set.
Oh, nice looking rigs, BTW.

I know this is an older thread, but fwiw....

I got 10000 km out of my stock Duro pusher. Honestly it should have been replaced sooner.

I replaced the pusher with a Heidenau k37 (more aggressive off road pattern) and I am definitely feeling the vibrations all the way through the handlebars with that one! I might go back to the Duro or something smoother since I don't get off road much.

I Still have the original duro's with 4.9mm tread depth on the front tire and 7.0mm tread on the side car tire. This is with 13136km's.

Anything new out on the tire market?
I'd really like to see some new tire options for street use in 4.0x19 for the Patrols/Gearups.
