Right now, Heindle Engineering is the best I can find on Duro HF 308. $69.95 each and free shipping if you get 2. I just ordered my 2, but probably won't need them till next fall.

I was home sick from work today, so I killed some time updating the tire price matrix.

Cheers,

Ordered 4 new Duro HF307's from smalltires.com with free shipping. Cedar Rapid tire was cheaper per tire, but the shipping costs made them more expensive overall. Pays to compare... :deal:

Thanks for putting this together, it was a big help...

Thanks Dan for the info.
I ordered two HF308s from smalltire.com like I did last year about this same time. Looks like they are still the best price although Holopaw was $100 installed when I had my recalled front rim replaced there.

Thank you very much Dan. I ordered some 307's in from Small tire. I don't need them right now but am sure they will not get cheaper in the future.

Small tire has 307's for $61.56. Free shipping if the order is over $100.00. so 2 tires 123.12 with free shipping.

Try cedar rapids tire - roughly 65$ out the door for either of the 19" duros.

Has anyone ridden Heidenau k37's (knobby) and compared them to K34's ("smoother")? Especially for 90/10 on/off road. To me, the 34's look like better mannered pavement tires, but are they "flat" enough to not squirm?

Oh, and GREAT post, BTW. Yes, please make it a sticky.

It looks like it is about time to get some tires on the shelf. All three are looking like they will be done by about August, just in time for the wet season. Hopefully that will be October, but . . . As is, the front was a sled in the last few rains we had.

Since the matrix hasn't been updated (I can imagine that it is a big effort), does anyone know of any deals going on the 308s?

I'd also consider a K28 up front if someone can post up what they are like in the rain when well worn. It looks like the tread will still have some edges, but I suppose that depends on the compound also? The 308s loose a lot of their sipes as they wear, in all the wrong place for wet braking. Still, a good tire, IMO.

Thanks!

Have a good one.

2 308's via SmallTire is $1 difference compared to Cedar Rapids (because of the free shipping). I called Revzilla, and even though they carry the Heideneau line, they aren't carrying K28's yet, and don't have plans to.

I just called SmallTire and they indicated their distributor isn't carryingK28's yet.

Scrambler Cycle is Carrying K28's and their site indicates they carry other sizes as well

I have emailed them.

I'll be due for a K28 by the end of next month.

Thanks!

Oh. I thought the 19in-ers were in the wild by now. I'm in no real rush, but I did get rid of the two old carcasses that I had in the crawlspace. It would be bad at this point if one got cut down badly.

I do have a new 307 as a spare.

Still curious about wet traction with worn 18in-ers.

Have a good one.
