It goes between the legs of the retainer where the clutch release lever retainer passes through.

And be aware, it's not an X-ring on the cylinder, but 2 tiny O-rings of an uncommon size.

Thanks! Explains the "2 O rings" description of the clutch slider:

2012 to 2016; 8.104-03206-01, 2 O-ring, 2_mm........probally 23mm per phughes, need to confirm.
