Rear view mirrors suggestions
Hello Folks, I would like to replace the stock mirrors on my 12 Gear Up. The oem mirrors just dont stay put, where you adjust them, and the view is not that great, as they tend to vibrate some.. Looking for replacement suggestions,
What are you guys found that works well?
Thanks
Rick.

I'm needing the same thing... I've tried two other inexpensive mirrors, both disappointing, what say the rest of the group?

Re: Rear view mirrors suggestions
I've seen several Ural owners post positive reviews of the Doubletake folding mirrors. They're particularly popular among the off-roading crowd.

Re: Rear view mirrors suggestions
Hinkley Triumph twin mirrors are quite solid and good quality, also cheap if bought used on Ebay or wherever.
Vibration proof on an older Triumph 650 twin so no worries on a Ural
Stems are 1/2" solid bar and threaded accordingly so mounting may require some ingenuity.

I have Double-Takes on my 450. They are superior and do take a beating. Pricy too but if yours suck then...

Re: Rear view mirrors suggestions
You know the Double-Takes are actually just the mirror part. Everything else that you get in their full kit is Ram Mount and probably the more expensive parts. But if you already have the Ram parts then you can just order the mirror. I was moving from bike to bike, the 2 wheelers. Do they still offer replacement if you break one?
On my Patrol I still have Emgo lollypops which are high and fine. Remove the left side in the woods.
It take an annoying time to set them up because you want them tight enough that they don't vibrate but loose enough so that they "break-away" on impact. Excellent for the off-road stuff. Might be overkill if only street/pavement.

Re: Rear view mirrors suggestions
Could you share the size of the ram mounts for our urals? I have a 2020 ir model year mKes a difference. And do either of the sides require left hand threads? I had the double takes on a 15 Tenere that I really liked and am considering ordering but unsure which threaded mounts to order.

Re: Rear view mirrors suggestions
Your 2020 does not, but older Urals do.And do either of the sides require left hand threads?
Sort of....
From 2005-2013 (mid-year), Urals came with the "oval"-shaped mirrors shown at the bottom of the photo. From mid-year 2013 on, Ural switched to the round mirrors shown above them.
The not-exactly-oval mirrors feature reverse threads on BOTH mirror stalks, but they came with the adapters shown to convert the stalks to a standard M10x1.25 mirror mount.
The round mirrors come with a standard M10x1.25 "slip-fit" base, which allows you to simply loosen the top but of the base, swivel the mirror stalk to your preferred position, then tighten it back down. On the older mirrors, post-adjustment tensioning was facilitated by "double-nutting"
I can show you 650 Ural mirrors, too, which are a different animal entirely, but they suck, so let's never speak of them again.
