See the plate number?
It's funny since I was just riding the BMW version of their "Scrambler" yesterday the appeal for folks that had a dirt or MX or real Scrambler back in the day. But have the means now not to have to cut up and chop something even if they are 450lbs.
He looks pretty darn happy in this picture from (it says) a year ago.

The plate that Eddie is holding that says 5150 is a nod to the LAPD Radio Code for E.D.P. or Emotionally Disturbed Person "Someone dangerous to themselves or others".

In Los Angeles north County around Pasadena/San Gabriel the local heads from the late 70s will throw names out and say
" Yeah. Van Halen played my High School Dance, Garage Party, Sisters B-Day, ﹰEvery ﹰFriday and Saturday. I knew Eddie and Alex and David Lee Roth and this and that ...very well"
I've probably heard that story a 100 times. My neighbor, and riding partner, put his money where his mouth is....The Poster attached. It's legit.

I gotta say Van Halens' 1978 debut album, I loved Eddie but thought DLR a fig. In 1980 driving by Oakland Stadium " Van Halen Tonight ".
Screech !!! Hit the brakes. BEST $10 bucks ever spent. DLR sold me and opened my eyes to showmanship. DLR, can't say stole the show but made it astonishingly memorable. Women and Children First Tour.

Lastly, in my pottery grouping it's majority women older than I. I'm 61. A few years back when DLR re-united for a few shows a group of these women had tickets. None, not one had ever heard of Van Halen. I begged to go but the clan was tight. Afterwards I asked about the show and they all said loud and annoying. Eddie, as usual, was ripping it.

Rest in Paradise Eddie. You lived it and gave us a wickedly good time.

Cool story.
Similar "Oh, I saw them/him when he was a nobody in a local bar" around me about Billy Joel, Twisted Sister, Mountain, The Good Rats (actually they never got that big), etc...

All these nice tributes to Eddie, and sadly not a word about his still smoking hot ex-wife Vallerie Bertinelli (age 60)

No woman is "smokin' hot" at age 60.
She might look "great for 60" or "doesn't look a day over 50" but never "smokin' hot."
