Weekender SE / Your Thoughts [ Merged ]

Post by Rusty Nuts » Thu Sep 03, 2020 8:33 pm

Just stopped by the mothership.com. They are showcasing a new design with some shinny bling and a bike hauler. any thoughts? I didn't sit and analyze, some might be able to and add a little insight.

Like the colors myself. I think I would be happy with any of the color combos. The chrome accents are a nice touch but no need for mountain bikes at this point in my life. I would love to if I had 2 good feet. Sold all my bikes a couple years ago. Just happy I can still walk. In the end, I still own the perfect setup for me.

That's this years "Special Edition? I wonder if it's the same as the usual end of year "Limited Edition"?

Very retro or should I say "Deco".

A changing once again demographic perhaps?

Hope the bikes aren't the same Russian high quality we've experienced in the past.

I have the Class-III bike hauler for the vehicles and the receiver is one of my winter projects for the Ural. Time to see how they mounted this and just copy the idea.

Sahara and Sportsman are the other special editions, right? So this is a third. (Not a limited edition.) Paint plus an option package, is how I’ve read them. We’ve got one of the Meadow (green) Weekenders in the shop, and I have to say the color is a nice contrast against the matte burgundy, slate, OD green, etc.

Rosso Corsa in Costa Mesa has been advertising this bike for quite some time now as a "custom color" bike. They have a bunch of other non-standard paint jobs as well.

I wouldn't like the extra width from the bicycles, especially on the back end. I've thought of a short, low trailer, maybe even a tow dolly, where the front tire is removed and fork mounted. Two bicycles would ying yang.

There's a lot going on with the two-tone body work, chrome AND black accessories/fixtures. I admire the Decos scheme and colors but too much going on here for my taste.

Its basically a 2 tone Patrol, and I find it interesting the gas cap and and dash are blacked out rather than brightwork, I did that to my Patrol to cut down on glare.

It’s funny you say that, because the build sheet specifically calls out a chrome gascap, but it’s clearly black in both my photo and Ural’s! I hadn’t even noticed that until you pointed it out. Typo in the build sheet, or packing error in Irbit, I wonder...

Not my thing either, but then again, Corsa is selling bikes to folks in and around trendy Orange County, CA (anyone who's spent any time in southern California understands what I'm getting at...) you have to offer up what the market desires, to stay in business. To stay in business selling toys, in a high rent area, you'd better be turnin' over that inventory

New model weekender: bound to become airborne
most of us know how easy the front wheel can start to skid without traction.
:D vrs
I just got an announcement into the door of the new "weekender" special edition to come soon.
With that rack and a few "back to the future" kids on top, you may be sure our beloved Urals will become airborne and start to fly like the hyper board beside the steam train
