Mr. Cob & JohnBG

Post by Kliff » Mon Jun 29, 2020 3:07 pm

 I have really been thinking about this in the past few days, since having been accepted into the Soviet Steeds stable...

And my real apology for past transgressions and rudeness should be specifically directed to two upstanding gentlemen, who I was too blind and self-centered to see were only trying to further everyone's enjoyment of the URAL Motorcycle line.

Gentlemen, Mr. Cob and JohnBG , please accept my humble apology for my words and attitude of 15 years ago. This is something that has been troubling me for years. And I didn't feel I could, or even should try to take a place here, without this direct apology.
I am sorry...

Howdy Kliff,

What ever it was, it must not have amounted to much as I have no recollection of the incident. Life is way to short to hold a grudge even if something may have pi$$ed me off way back then it has been long forgotten, welcome to Soviet Steeds.

It takes a certain amount of intestinal fortitude to own up on mistakes, even if made a long time ago. One thing I've learned in life is that one should always be careful with one's words, cuz once spoken they cannot be taken back. I make it a point to never talk crap about anyone and try to always be considerate of others' feelings. Can't say it always happens, but I try to be much more conscious of it now.

Anyway, welcome (back).

Kliff, welcome back and thanks for the eloquent reminder to all of us to remember to ask for forgiveness for past transgressions. The forum is a little richer with you as a member.

Mr. Cob, thanks for showing all of us how to graciously accept an apology.

I love seeing so much classy behavior here. That is why I stick around even though I have owned a Ural in 6 years. Still love attending rallies to see old friends.

Well said guys. This is why, when it looks like I finally have the money to actually put the Hannigan on the 2015 Ultra, I am discussing getting a 2020 Ural from Jon at Heindl. I usually ride alone whether on a Ural or other bike but I feel a much larger sense of community here. I also have a friend offering me a killer deal on his 2017 Gear Up with little to no real mileage and I may need to go with that and take a chance without a warranty during what really is the break in period.

Uralless for 3 years and regretting it the last 2 years I have owned a Doberman. Thinking of coming back rather than hacking the Harley...there is just something about Urals, this forum, and the 2WD I used infrequently while camping.....

Thank you guys.
Your replies really humble me. Much as life has in the years since my belligerent behaviour so easily arose and erupted.

So much has happened that showed me how small and worthless I was. And the only way to arise from this, was to admit my transgressions not only to those I offended, but also to myself.

I don't always meet with the approval I have here, and it is heart warming.

So again, many thanks, and I do hope to become a positive influence here.
