My other Motorcycle forums are $12 a year subscription that I gladly pay. Where else can you have this much for for a $1 a month!
Edit: Heck, once I found the Pass The Hat post a few months back (I've only been here a year) and knew how to get money to the owners I gladly donated.

If you have better ideas, I'm all ears.

Perhaps some kind of question(s) that must be answered to create your account. We can discuss it at the staff meeting.
We already have a Q&A anti-spam procedure in place. Logout and try registering as a new user to see it.

We have the Q&A procedure in place, has been for years. It stops the "bots" but if someone wants to register manually and spam it doesn't stop them. I have to change the questions every so often as the spammers get smart and have a database.
I try to keep the site "free" but member-supported like your local public television station, except I'm not taxpayer-subsidized and I won't bug you with breaks in the middle of the show to beg for money and say "If you pledge $50, we'll send you this nifty tote bag".

I should hope not, when it only retails for $14.99.

I don't mind the breaks as long as you're not trying to sell me a civil war chess set one piece a month.
