I'm getting 30=32, mostly around town. The only gas readily available is E-10 and i run regular, can't tell any difference with premium. I do notice a difference when they switch from summer to winter blends, usually 1 or 2 mpg drop in mileage. Don't like having to use Ethanol blends but can't say it's as bad as the rap it gets, just don't let it sit unused for more than a month or so. Also my odometer reads about 7% low, correcting for that bumped my mileage up a couple mpg.
past afflictions include limey motocars and bikes, R60/2, R65ls, and a Citroen.

Changed all fluids, changed air filter (bike has Windmill’s air cleaner with oiled filter) and re-rode previous route.

Refueled at 114 kms, 2.6 gallons, 27 mpg. Still need to do valve check.

My theory of lots of commuting and high headwinds appear to be the difference.

I’ll take 27 mpg at highway speeds, primarily.

When I got my new-to-me 2011 Patrol, first tank was 17mpg. Realized that the enrichment knob on the left carb was...gone. Screwed in a replacement and mpg seems to hold around 25 after valve adjust, air filter clean and new plugs. Was going to suggest you make sure one of your enricheners hadn’t catapulted but it looks like you found your problem.

With E10 you'll get a 6% increase in fuel use. Ethanol only producing 60% of the energy of 'real' gas. My 2015 gets about 34 mpg with ethanol-free gas. I try to top off at 180 km, leaving me a safe over gallon reserve.

Both enricheners remain on board. I know because I had looked to ensure I had not accidently left one of them pulled out.

Hoping for an mpg bump as the engine reaches 15,000-20,000 kms as that’s what typically happens with BMW airheads and Urals. My 2004 Tourist went up from 25-28 mpg to 30-34 mpg at that mark. I recognize my 2WD Gobi may not get that big of a boost as the engine settles in.

Valves were good, minor adjustment on leftside intake and rightside exhaust. All valves set to .004.

We have our winter fuel now, which means Ethanol mix.

MPG dropped immediately to 33 mpg I saw in Washington State with their Ethanol.

I had been running 37 to 39 mpg

What size jets do you have? On my patrol, I had 28's and went back to 22's do to bad gas mileage. Shims on the carb slides will also reduce millage.

Sorry I picked up a wrong thread

Mine is a FI 2019, been some discussion about ethanol and affect.

Mine is clearly affected by the Ethanol; as soon as it see that stuff it drops to 33 mpg.

Guess I should stock on on regular before winter switch and see what blend it takes to get it back up 37 or so.

Low tire pressure will affect mileage and handling. Headwinds yes and crosswinds worse.

My '07 Patrol is consistent at 27 mpg/43 kpg in city traffic and secondary roads. The two fully loaded road trips I've made, (1000 kms interstate) averaged 25 mpg/40 kpg.

When purchased 28 months ago the headers were blued. Have kept an eye on them and don't notice any worsening. It starts every time, runs fine, and depending on ambient temp after brief warm-up will not pop or sputter. Sometimes never at all at warm-up.
So I've pondered the carbs or valves but figured if it's working, don't touch it. Only thing I did adjudt is lowered the idle. Majority of fuel 91 w/ethanol

So far the 2019 has been consistent. 37 - 39 regardless of hills, wind, load. In town, out of town (loaded in town would veery well chagne0

The only time I have seen it fall off is Ethanol.

First fill in Washington State with that and it dropped off. Stayed there on flat even no wind low loaded rides.

Back up to 37-39 as soon as I got real fuel in it.

Just filled up with the winter blend with Ethanol that goes into affect in AK in the fall and off it dropped to 33.

I realized I do have some regular gasoline I can try. Still dealing with temps under 35 now so not sure how viable a test.

I live in a area where there are gas stations within 5 miles of my location at any given time so I am not to concerned about having a large reserve capacity. I decided to shorten the reserve stem on my petcock so it has about a half to 3/4 gallon left when it hits reserve which gets me about 10-15 miles of running. Now the main tank lets me reach 200 to 220 klicks before reserve depending on usage/speed. If I expect to be deeper in the forests I can always take an extra can with me but so far that has not been a problem. Depending on your area that might be an option to get more from the main tank. :)

17.4 mpg...."ouch". Highway or Super Slab speeds are not a Ural's forte, but that kind of fuel mileage indicates more than high speed operation. Something else is amiss.

Generally true, but here out west we have some long, steep, exposed mountain passes subject to steady high winds that can cause such drops in mileage without being readily apparent at the moment.

Worst so far for me was 33mpg. That was riding solo loaded for 4 days of camping in 20deg overnight tent camping. Met up with a couple of passes, the highest being 8707 ft.
Highest was 42 if I remember
