Today was Spousal Unit's day for learning how to ride a Ural. A friend who is a long time instructor is giving us some one-one-one instruction....
Now there is wide open spaces! Great spot to do it, hard finding open area like that.
Love the Gun Metal Blue color of the one machine.
Whats the machinery in the background?

Mileage was about 38,600.
Cause was too much crap dirtying my airflow such as extra gas can on the inside of the car, a spare tire under the front of the car, luggage on the nose rack, coil of rope on the front fender. I ingested lots of dust on my summer road trip on the forest service roads and pretty much sand blasted the pistons and cylinders out of spec discovered by a compression test. It got me home but didn't have any pull left at the top end.
I needed new pistons and jugs as well as some valve work. The jugs were back ordered from Russia.

Enjoy the new motor!!! Good to see you put life back in it, 38,600 isn’t horrendous but hopefully the new one lives longer.

Rode home from Salem back to Bend. Stopped by flagger who goes “Wow, you’re the second Ural I’ve seen today. There’s a white one about 30-35 minutes ahead of you.”
Temps were high 50s, low 60s and dry. Cloudy at times but mostly sunny. Rig ran great and a second round of suicidal butterflies plastered my ‘Stich R3.
Put Erika back together two weeks ago after a major overhaul. Had to pat myself on the back that she actually ran after enduring my hamfisted maintenance
Sammy’s really taken to using his new ramp so he can continue the adventure.

As my grandson woke up with the flu this Easter morning and canceled all Easter plans, yes. Several times, in fact. The mission to find an open hot dog joint in lieu of Easter brunch involved many miles.
Planning a ride with Mrs. C later this afternoon.

Sammy looks quite content, love the ramps. Why the overhaul?
