I initially tried that Cyron led Ural sells, the triangular one with 3 emitters, and was totally disappointed.
I concur. The Cyron is plenty bright, but doesn't "throw" that light down the road very well. The other LED "bulbs" are much more effective and penetrating the darkness.

Hi found this thread to be very interesting
Not to sound dense but have a couple applications (including the patrol) would like to try these Auxbeam LED H4s
For a normal 12v motorcycle electrical system do I need to install resistors in the harness or get new relays??
Asking since have done 4 different motorcycles with led tail lights and turn signals with very mixed results....every bike seemed to respond differently
Many Thanks-CHEERS!! -Geno

The Auxbeam is plug and play, no relays, resistors, or anything else needed.

Resistors are only needed for LED turn signal bulbs because flasher units are wattage sensitive. There are flasher units that work with LED's, and there's LED's with built in resisters for vehicles with CANBUS systems.

Okay Just completed 'The Windmill Lighting Mod':

Thank you windmill for all the excellent advice on this thread along with all the other good uralistas on this board that posted their findings
My low beams failed. Ordered the auxbeam bulb. It arrived next day. Tore into headlight bucket. On this 2014 Patrol had the wagner sealed headlight. Couldnt install the bulb. Ordered the hella relflector. Realized after arrival no existing wiring for the pilot bulb. took out shell and dug into the rats nest. found the yellow wire into the connector for the pilot light to come on with an idiot light (got ground from the battery neg).
Quickly realized this went from a 15minute 'that was easy' to a minimum of 3 beer project. collected up every spade terminal and piece of shrink wrap i had laying around in the garage and fired up the soldering iron. Was able to remove the yellow lead from the connector behind the shell and feed a length of 14 gauge wire through into the shell itself. Really struggled with the ground. Finally decided to pull the ground off the h4 connector in the shell. Crimped and soldered like i was mad at it (i probably was). Resolved to switch out the ural oem connectors with some sealed ones at a future date. Took it out for a test ride and noticed the headlight is quite excellent may have to rotate the new aux beam bulb not a clean cut off on top.
Noticed on this little nightime test ride around the neighborhood the headerpipes glowing red (for the 1st time ever).
Parked it and posted to the order of the greasy wrench since i was freaking out about burning a valve or piston.

Posting some photos in case anyone else is converting from the wagner sealed beam to the auxbeam/hella shell windmill so kindly introduced me to.

I'm running this solution in a Hella reflector on my Moto Guzzi.
It's a plug & play replacement that fits anywhere a standard H4 bulb fits because there are no additions to the back dimensions.
Brighter than the fancy Sylvania Silverstone Ultra with longer life and lower power consumption.
