Ursula is No More (Maybe)

Post by :FI:Igor » Tue Sep 29, 2015 5:25 pm

Had a bad accident on my way to Walmart Sunday morning. Nice back country road, all 40-45 mph zone, good conditions, maybe a ten or twelve mile ride; do it almost every Sunday with my wife. Luckily, she didn't ride with me that day. About five miles into the trip a vehicle takes up both lanes (I don't know if he was backing or making a left hand turn in front of me, he was just all of a sudden there!). Hard brake, swerve left and thought that the sidecar might just clear him; apparently it didn't. I don't remember the impact. I woke up in intensive care not knowing why I was there and who all the people there were; didn't recognize my wife or best friend!
I was very lucky! After a few hours I started to recognize people. Apparently I had contacted the vehicle. Got thrown off the rig and landed in such a way that my leather belt torn and full modular helmet got badly cracked! Many sore muscles. But no cuts or broken bones. Had/(have) a concussion ('bruised brain' that should be alright in a few days). I suspect the helmet saved my life! Ursula's in bad shape. But other than that we're the luckiest Summer Beaches on the Planet!

Man you really folded, spindled, and mutilated your tub. I'm so glad you seem to be fairing better than it did. Heal up fast.
I may not be good, but I'm slow.

Glad it wasn't worse. I have had some nasty head injuries before; make sure you take it easy. You will start to feel better long before you actually are and it's easy to over do it. Feel better soon!
