See ya later

Post by Norms 427 » Sun Aug 23, 2015 12:25 pm

I just sold my 2011 Patrol. I'm retired and I just need to thin the herd.

I've owned Olga since new for 4.5 years and my trip to AK in the RR section of this forum was one of the highlights of my motorized life. Olga had 22,000 km on it when I sold it a few days ago and it's been super reliable and a joy to own.

I hope the new owner joins the forum ... I'm sure he will as he reads it often. He teaches the local classes on sidecars and 3 wheelers and gives the state DOT exams for those rigs. He's an awesome guy and lives in Spokane.

Thanks for 4.5 years of fun reading and stimulating discussions. I'll always have a soft spot for Urals. I'll drop in from time to time to find out what's going on.

BE SAFE.

Have enjoyed your posts and trip reports - sorry to see you going.

Seems like many folks who leave have something else up their sleeve - they aren't just sitting down in the rocking chair. What's next?

You step out. That is impossible. Once you caught the rig bacillus you will stay affected for life.
See you soon back here.

I'm sorry to have to tell you this but the Ural is in your blood. You will get another one, you will be back. I sold my Patrol in 2012 and kinda forgot about Ural then something inside of me started and I was reading about them and finally remember this place and got to reading more about them and then it happened four years later I bought another one. You can not get it out of you. I retired couple of years ago just gives me more time to ride on two wheels or the Ural.

Hold that thought Norm. Hold back, stash some of the Ural sale money. Somehow I can see you in the future adding a chair to your Sportster. :) Which IMHO would make a great mile eating road burner touring outfit.
Enjoy your retirement.
