This is good news and a re-assertion that advances in medicine do increase quality of life. When you have a chance, encourage others to be mindful of their bodies.I call it second chances and lets us move forward deliberately and thankful for quality life.

Great news!

IF it does decide to reappear, those 6 month follow-up CTs will get it when it's small and treatable.

JohnBG wrote:Cancer Update: I had my follow-up PET scan yesterday after the 4th round of chemo. Praise God, the chemo worked and the cancer is gone! This was synopsis from my PET scan results:

IMPRESSION: Interval resolution of the previously seen hypermetabolic left supraclavicular and left common iliac adenopathy as well as the hypermetabolic splenic activity consistent with an excellent therapeutic response. Currently, there is no PET/CT evidence of disease.

I met with my oncologist this morning and he confirmed that it's excellent news. I still need to finish the last two rounds of chemo (tomorrow and 3 weeks from tomorrow) and have additional follow-up PET scans every 6 months to make sure it doesn't come back. I won't need any radiation, bone marrow transplants, or T-cell therapy. My family is super excited and relieved.

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers, they worked! Please continue them as I have more chemo and recovery left to do.

Praise be! That's wonderful! I'm getting my Ural out tomorrow (OOPS! that's today) and taking a ride in your honor. Mine has been sitting in the garage collecting dust, and I've been telling myself to get off my butt and get it out there! We're still thinking about you and praying for you!
